The movies not nationally distributed are here. The theater is small, older,but clean and adequate.
It is wonderful that Salina has a theater dedicated to showing those non-commercial shows that challenge the viewer instead of pandering to the lowest common denominator in humor or violence. The theater is always clean and comfortable, and the movies consistently thought-provoking.
They always have a great selection of movies that are unique and not shown at the "main stream" theaters. 1 theater room, 90 seats, small and affordable concession stand. Nice and clean.
For decades friends and I have been driving 45 miles each weekend to share movies at the art cinema. Always good movies--the selection committee never disappoints. Staff is top notch-- we've become "Friday friends" and look forward to our weekly movie chats. Salina & area are fortunate to have this great little theater. I would encourage everyone to attend movies here-- you will return again and again!
