Unless you want your loved one to wait upwards of half an hour for anyone to answer their call light...I'd steer clear of this place!
This is currently a premier Skilled CARE Facility! So many people transferred their love ones here from other facilities. Our current DON is Jean Talbott who goes above and beyond any DON I have ever worked for. There is nothing she doesn't do! Customer service she does her job as well as work the floor as a CNA. She sets high standards for her staff and I believe that's why we currently have such a good reputation right now in our community . Several family members tell me one of the best things they like is the therapy department, and the fact that the staff really cares about their resident's. The DPOA'S appreciate all the information we give them not just medication changes or condition changes. But the positive things their family member is doing. They also appreciate the respect and honesty of the staff that they receive as family members. We've had so many comment's that I've received I am proud to be part of this medical team. Chris Bell is our admissions director at Pinnacle Park. I've known her longer than I've been employed at Pinnacle Park and she is amazing. I would recommend her for a contact even if you are just considering placement for your loved one. We do let families come visit for tours. We also encourage family's to visit their loved ones anytime. Our activities are amazing Cindy Mayhugh is our activity director and we have a schedule which we welcome family's to attend. Our activities have improved since she has become the director. She also has an assistant. This facility is more than a health care facility. We love our residents like family. Cindy Enright is our Social Services Director and she has years of experience. Patient rights are one of our priorities as well. Jon Robertson is our administrator. Janet is medical records Director. We have a great team. If you are in need of your loved one to have care come check us out. We accept hospice and work closely with hospice. We also do care so family's can take a break to prevent them from burn out! We listen to family concerns as well as our resident's. We have currently had a change in our food menu we have a menu and also choice for residents which prefer to eat something else they would prefer. We have resident's that are total care and dependent on us they are alert and oriented. As a dignity issue I make sure they know they are my boss and they are in charge. This gets some smiles and I'm power mentioned. I can honestly say there is no there place in Salina I would consider working at! Sincerely Deidre Forster RN
If you need to use the restroom and are not suppose to be getting up on your own, is a 20 minute wait time for an aide something you think is OK?
Poor nursing home!! I watched and listened to a nurse there named Conny in the evening yell and curse at some of the CNA's because they were behind on work, but she did nothing to help. IN FRONT OF THE RESIDENTS!!! Big No No. If you are thinking of bringing a loved one here think again!
In for Swing bed, therapy only:
If you are going in for therapy and your daughter walks you down half the hallway,on a Saturday, first day, and the nurse tells you that they don't usually get anyone up for a walk until therapy see's them? Is that OK with you? Why does a lift recliner not have a controller or cord for the outlet?
